Anna whose playing has been praised both by the press (“stunning…better played than Itzhak Perlman own recording”, Mount Vernon News) and by the famous musicians including: Daniel Barenboim, JoAnn Falletta, Krzysztof Penderecki and George Zack was born in Lodz, Poland. She has won many prizes and awards including First Prizes at the International Competition at the Aspen Music Festival, Colorado and at the WGUC Radio Station International Competition (twice) and one of the most precious awards for a violinist: a loan of Guarneri del Gesu, "Sennhauser" from the elite Stradivari Society.
She has performed in many prestigious concert halls including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center (New York City), Gusman Center for Performing Arts (Miami, Florida), National Grand Theater (Warsaw, Poland), National Center for the Arts (Mexico City, Mexico), Krakow Royal Philharmonic and at many important events including the Fulbright Foundation Anniversary Gala, Pope John Paul II Eightieth Birthday Concert Gala, Concert-Tribute closing the Exhibition "And I Still See Their Faces: The Vanished World of Polish Jews" at Yeshiva University Museum (NYC), UNICEF Fund Raiser, International Mozart Festivals (Poland and USA), Panasonic Foundation Concert to a great success.
Anna is developing a highly successful solo career performing with many orchestras including the Penderecki Festival Orchestra, the Lexington Philharmonic, Sinfonia Cracovia, the Polish-American Symphony Orchestra, the Deaborn Symphony Orchestra, Paderewski Symphony Orchestra, the Fairmont Chamber Orchestra and the Starling Orchestra. Her performances have won the hearts of audiences and press.
She has appeared on Polish National TV and Radio (Written by the Bow, Pegaz, Harmonia Mundi, Karkowska Sisters Duo) and on American TV and Radio including PolVision (Chicago) PBS (Buffalo, NY). Anna is also pursuing a chamber and recital music career. Together with her sister, Kasha, an acclaimed pianist, they perform as the Karkowska Sisters Duo.
She is a graduate of Wieniawski Music Highschool. Lodz Poland (the violin class of Zenon Ploszaj), College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio (Bachelor of Music, recipient of a full scholarship and a special award in the form of a stipend for living, the violin class of Piotr Milewski), and of the prestigious Juilliard School of Music in New York City (Master of Music, recipient of full scholarship, the violin class of Dorothy DeLay and Hyo Kang).
